Once a year, on the first Saturday in March, we can experience skiing the way it was done before there were ski lifts on Mt. Hood with the awesome annual Ski the Glade Event!
This year, on March 2, 2019, we can ski from Timberline to Government Camp on the 3-Mile Glade Trail which is opened and specially groomed just for this historic event! The Mt. Hood Museum & Timberline Lodge host this annual event by special permit from the US Forest Service.
Ski the Glade day participants are treated to a red carpet day of skiing & warm treats at the Mt. Hood Museum with coffee & donuts in the morning, delicious soup for a warm, hearty lunch & a variety of wine, beer & hor’derves at the apres ski party!
Shuttles for Ski the Glade participants and volunteers will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM allowing ticket holders to make several trail runs escorted by local guides and senior members of the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol. The events of the day are recounted at the Apres ski party, where prizes are awarded for best vintage ski wear & drinks enjoyed!
Participation in Ski the Glade day is limited to 75 skiers. Event Tickets cost $100 for members and $125 for Non-members which includes a One Year Family Membership to the Mt. Hood Museum. Anyone who purchases 9 tickets & will receive the 10th ticket free!
